Other options in the area include the Sand House Hotel, a former manor and Herron’s Cove, a restaurant and guesthouse.

Rossnowlagh is a lovely village renowned for its beaches and surfing conditions. It is very close to both Ballyshannon and Donegal.

Though this may sound as if your choices are limited in the town, rather, you should find that this restaurant meets all your needs. The Mustard Seed is located at Echo Lodge Hotel. This is a former convent with a lovely atmosphere. Homegrown food is a specialty. Both residents and non-residents are equally welcome.

Ballingarry is a pretty village located in the centre of Limerick.

Restaurants in Castletroy are mainly limited to those located in the local hotels, mainly the Castletroy Park Hotel and the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel. The Castletroy Park Hotel offers McLaughlin’s Restaurant. It is also home to the Merry Pedlar, which serves carvary during the day and has a bistro service at night. The Kilmurry Lodge serves la carte in Flanagans while a breakfast menu is served in Nelligan’s Bar. Castletroy is an increasingly popular location and is home to the University Arena and the large University Concert Hall.

Templeglantine restaurants are quite restricted in number. The one hotel restaurant in Templeglantine is the Devon Inn Hotel. This is a traditional three star hotel with an in-house restaurant. You can enjoy a drink either before or after your meal in the pub and lounge. The restaurant is open to both residents and non-residents though prior booking is recommended if you are not staying in the hotel.

Adare restaurants are plentiful so you should have no problem in selecting one which meets your requirements. However, booking in advance is recommended, as restaurants in Adare tend to reach capacity in peak seasons.

Choices in Adare are varied, from a converted cottage to a casual bistro. One of the most acclaimed in the area is The Maigue Restaurant, winner of many restaurant awards. For more home style cooking there are plenty of choices including The Aches Restaurant.

Top of the list has to be Whytes which is both reasonably priced and critically acclaimed. Leens Hotel, the main hotel in the area, also serves food including a carvery lunch.

Should you run out of places to try, Listowel (in Kerry) is only nine miles away.

The town even has its own dedicated seafood restaurant in the Marine Links hotel. Further from the town centre some country and guesthouses also have their own dining facilities. Ballybunion is a beautiful seaside village situated at the mouth of the Shannon. Its golfing facilities are world-renowned and attract visitors year-round. Its beaches, caves and coves are beautiful.

All food served is organic and they offer special dairy and gluten free menus. Whether vegetarian or not you are sure to be impressed by the home style cooking served here. Castlemaine is a picturesque village located on the River Maine. It is the perfect location to get away from it all.

Traditional settings are commonplace, though, more modern surrounds are starting to appear, too. Listowel is situated in North Kerry and is one of the most popular and well-known places in Kerry. Any time is a good time to visit; however, events such as the ‘Wren Boys’ championships and Horseracing Festival are particularly busy. Booking ahead is highly recommended during these times.

Traditional dancing and local hospitality can be experienced in one of the local pubs. Should you want to explore a greater range of eateries then simply travel to nearby Caherciveen. Ballinskelligs is a beautiful town in the West of Kerry. Just one of its attractions is Ballinskelligs Monastery, dating from the 12th century.

As a renowned fishing village it is no surprise that fish is a specialty in many restaurants. One of the finest seafood restaurants is Nick’s Seafood and Piano Bar. Top Deck restaurant is located in The Fishery while the Carraig Country House has its own restaurant and overlooks Lake Carraig.

Killorglin is situated near the Ring of Kerry route. It is especially well known for its Puck Fair. Should you tire of the restaurants in the town Dingle and Killarney are not too far away.
