Howth restaurants have the advantage of being located in one of Dublin’s most scenic towns. Restaurants in Howth are popular, because of this but also because of the wide range of quality establishments on offer. Most are located around the main street or near the harbour. Unsurprisingly, with its location, fish is a specialty and there are a number of fish restaurants in the area. Other specialties include Mexican, pasta and pub grub. So whether you wish to enjoy a tranquil lunch after a day by the sea or simply want to get away from it all at night, Howth has much to offer.

Restaurants in St Stephen’s Green are some of the best in the city centre. St Stephen’s Green restaurants are top end establishments with mainly great reputations. A number of new hotels have also opened in the area, further increasing the number of fine eateries on offer. Prior booking is highly recommended for most of these restaurants, an indication of their popularity.

St Stephen’s Green is located in the Dublin 2 area, only a minute or two from Grafton Street.

Restaurants in Grafton Street range from trendy cafes to top of the market fine restaurants. Grafton Street restaurants are also incredibly varied in the type of food, which is served. As a major shopping area in the city it is perhaps not surprising that shoppers are catered to with a huge variety of casual cafes and eateries. Some shops such as Brown Thomas or Marks and Spencer offer their own cafes. For something a little more special, though, you might try one of the restaurants in the Westbury or some of the main fine restaurants located just off Grafton Street, on Wicklow Street, South Anne Street or Stephen’s Green. There are plenty to choose from.

Restaurants in Dublin Airport have improved greatly over the years. Dublin Airport restaurants now offer a greater choice than ever before. Over twenty eateries, from cafes to hot food restaurants are available in the airport. These can be divided into those before security and after. Favourites include Bewleys Café, the Bailey Bar and Butlers Chocolate Café. The Foodhall is by far the largest with the greatest variety of menu. With check-ins becoming earlier and earlier any of these dining areas provide an ideal way to while away the time before your flight.

Outside the airport building, patrons can also try any of the restaurants in the nearby airport hotels. Potters Restaurant in the Great Southern Hotel is just one example.

Restaurants in Merrion Road are situated in the heart of Ballsbridge, one of the best places for food lovers in the city. Merrion Road restaurants are varied both in terms of price and menu. For eating on a budget try Baan Thai or Ocras Restaurant, situated in the Tara Towers Hotel. For those on a larger budget the Merrion Inn comes highly recommended. For a drink either before or after your meal there are plenty of bars and pubs in and around Ballsbridge to choose from.

Drumcondra restaurants may not be plentiful but those on offer are varied and tend to be good value for money. The reason for the small selection of restaurants in Drumcondra may be due to its proximity to the city centre. However, on offer are the wide-ranging Thai, Italian and Indian, as well as the more general modern Irish menus. Prices also compare favourably to those restaurants located mere minutes away in the city centre. However, should you still not find what you are looking for, a short bus or car ride brings you to the O’Connell Street or Grafton Street areas.

Drumcondra is also only minute’s drive from Dublin’s airport. Croke Park is also on your doorstep.

Restaurants in Clondalkin offer a good all-round choice of menus. Clondalkin restaurants can be divided in the categories of Italian, Chinese, Tandoori and modern Irish, something to please everyone. Some are located in nearby shopping centres, Liffey Valley or Newlands Cross Shopping Centre. Others are on the main street or nearby. For many Clondalkin is synonymous with the Red Cow Inn and that too has its own restaurant, Del Rosso’s. Clondalkin is located in Dublin 22. Dublin airport is only 14 miles away and travel to the city centre is possible by road or by Luas.

Restaurants in Stillorgan are plentiful, due in some part, to its proximity to the city centre. Stillorgan restaurants are varied in both price and menu. On any visit you can choose between Italian, Chinese or Indian. Dublin’s oldest restaurant is also located here and remains popular. Hotel restaurants are always popular and with the Radisson SAS and the Stillorgan Park Hotel you are spoilt for choice here. Prior booking is recommended for Stillorgan restaurants. Its vicinity to the city centre (only four miles away) makes it one of the more popular Dublin locations.

Dun Laoghaire restaurants offer a great range of eateries from cafes to fine dining. Restaurants in Dun Laoghaire benefit by their location in this lovely town by the sea. Forty Foot is one of the better known in the area and offers magnificent views of Dublin Bay. Another favourite is Roly’s @ the Pavillion, by the same people of Roly’s in Ballsbridge. Italian’s and Asian restaurants are also located in Dun Laoghaire. Many restaurants offer early bird specials and some are open seven days a week. Check in advance.

Dun Laoghaire is located to the south of Dublin. Easily accessible via car or dart, it is popular due to its beautiful scenery and good nightlife.

Restaurants in Killiney have one thing in common, their proximity to some of Dublin’s most stunning scenery. Killiney restaurants are limited, mainly to two restaurants, but both are of a superior standard. Both are located in The Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel. Choose between PJs, a fine dining restaurant, or the Dungeon Bar and Grill, a more casual affair. You do not have to be staying in the hotel to dine in either but booking ahead is highly recommended for P.J.s.

Killiney is a beautiful seaside village located to the south of Dublin. It is easily accessible via car or dart and is well known for its famous inhabitants.

O’Connell Street restaurants may in previous years have developed a reputation more negative than not. Restaurants in O’Connell Street for many years seemed to be dominated by fast food establishments, which were thought to downgrade the façade of the street. Now, the fast food places remain but there is far more choice in O’Connell Street and its vicinity for your eating requirements. The Gresham Hotel remains as popular as ever but is now joined by the likes of Flanagans and Restaurant Six. For more upmarket fast food visit the famous Beshoff Restaurant or La Pizza. Nearby Abbey Street also has other eating options.

Malahide restaurants may be so superior due to the sheer volume in the town, you have to be good to compete in this area. Literally, restaurants for every taste and budget are catered for in this lovely village. Top of the end restaurants include Cruzzo situated on the marina and Silks, a Chinese restaurant, where you might possibly spot a famous face. Pub food is especially good in the area, and two hotels, the Island View and the Grand also provide top-notch cuisine. Chinese, Italian and Thai food are just some of the other available options in the area. With over twenty choices on offer, you will not be short of places to try.

Lucan restaurants continue to grow in number as the village itself grows in population. Restaurants in Lucan are varied and range from Chinese to more traditional fare. Most eateries are located in the village itself, particularly around the main street. Two large hotels are located in proximity to the village, the Spa Hotel and the Finnstown House Hotel, and both guarantee varied menus and good wine selections. Sunday lunches are also available in both.

Lucan is situated in South County Dublin. It has grown in popularity recently not least because of its convenience to the city centre as well as other towns such as Leixlip and Celbridge. Restaurants in Ballsbridge have a very good reputation in general. The area and the restaurants in Ballsbridge would be regarded as very much upmarket. Ballsbridge is located 3 miles from Dublin city centre in the leafy suburbs of Dublin 4. The area has some fine 5 star hotels and the R.D.S is also located in Ballsbridge.
