Restaurants in Claregalway cater not only to locals and visitors to the town but also to those visitors to Galway City itself. The city is only six miles away meaning that if you don’t find what you require here you will not have far to travel. Yet, Claregalway has some good choices. For good general restaurants Kynes Central Tavern or the Abbey Restaurants are good bets. For something a little different why not try Cloonacauneen Castle. The Claregalway Hotel is a recent addition to the town and it, too, has its own restaurant.

Claregalway is a lovely village situated in East Galway.

Choose between the casual or the formal at Knocknacarra restaurants. Restaurants in Knocknacarra include Tom Sheridan’s Bar and Restaurant, a restaurant of the former variety. For something a little more formal you might like to try the Clybaun Hotel which has a bistro for both residents and non-residents. Knocknacarra is very close to Salthill as well as its lovely beaches and water activities.

With a reputation as an oyster village there should be no prizes for guessing what dish you should try in the restaurants in Clarinbridge. Choices are a little limited; however, you should find something, which suits your needs. This may range from casual pub grub to the Old School House Restaurant to nearby Clarinbridge Court Hotel.

Restaurants in Leenane benefit by many things. Leenane restaurants enjoy the privilege of being located in such a picturesque village. Its reputation as a fishing paradise also adds prestige to their menus. If you do choose to eat fish, make sure it has been caught locally. You will notice the difference. Hotel restaurants are especially recommended in the area, as are the more casual eateries such as the Blackberry Cafe. Booking ahead is highly recommended. Leenane is located near the head of Killary.

As a small town, it should be no surprise that there are a limited number of restaurants in Headford. However, any visitor to Headford can expect quality and friendly service. Options include a small hotel which is family-run. Fish is a recommended dish, as the town is well known as a fishing spot. Ask your waiter if it has been caught locally.

Headford is a popular north Galway town. Just some places of interest include Killursa Church and Ross Erilly Friary.

Restaurants in Kinvara may vary but they all offer great food, with a hint of the traditional, and great service. Kinvara restaurants often serve sea specialties such as chowder, in keeping with its seaside location. You might like to dine in the local hotel which is noteworthy for its thatched roof. Or even an exquisite castle with medieval style banquets? The sense of tradition continues in the pubs in the town, which often play host to traditional music nights.

Restaurants in Furbo are mainly limited to those located in the Connemara Coast Hotel. Set within beautifully manicured gardens this hotel is home to two restaurants. Expect spectacular views of Galway Bay and the Aran Islands and fantastic food. Ost Na Mara Restaurant at Padhraicin’s is another local favourite.
Furbo is located 10km away from Galway City where further choices can also be explored.

Oranmore is set in Galway Bay. Its nightlife is good with a mixture of traditional and more modern pubs so you can enjoy a drink either before or after your meal.

Restaurants in Carna may not be hugely plentiful. However, what the town lacks in number it more than makes up for in quality and service. Choices include The Carna Bay Hotel, a three-star, family-run establishment, with a speciality in local produce. Local pubs also serve great bar food.

Carna is a lovely Connemara town located on the coast. St MacDara’s Church is a famous attraction.

Oughterard Restaurants-Restaurants in Oughterard Galway

Oughterard restaurants benefit by their location in such a beautiful part of Connemara. Many of the restaurants in Oughterard are located near water or have a water theme, only adding to their charm. Examples include the Boat Inn or the Riverside Café. Small (some family-run) hotels are also another option. Expect at least three star service and food with an emphasis on the traditional.

Oughterard is known as the gateway to Connemara However, the town itself is also a picturesque stopover with Lough Corrib nearby. Have you eaten in any of Oughterard’s restaurants? Would you recommend it to others? We would love to hear your comments. Don’t hesitate to post them below.

Restaurants in Clifden are some of the best in Connemara. Clifden restaurants offer great hospitality, traditional cooking and friendly service. Family-run establishments are common. Recommended establishments include G’s Restaurant and Mitchell’s Restaurant, but there are plenty more besides. If you have a favourite, let us know about it. Many of the restaurants are located near some beautiful scenery such as the bay, beaches and mountains.

Clifden is Connemara’s main town. One should not leave without first visiting Kylemore Abbey.

Should you have any special dietary requirements, most establishments will be only too willing to help. Just some other points of interest in Ballinasloe include the Battle of Aughrim Centre and Ballinasloe Castle.
