Knock Restaurants-Restaurants in Knock Mayo

Knock, of course, is known for one thing, as being the home of the site of the 1879 apparition. Knock restaurants, then, cater not only to its locals but also to the many visitors to such a religious location. Restaurants in Knock are mainly located in the hotels, which cater to said tourist trade, such as the Belmont Hotel. Other options such as Fairfield Restaurant are also available. If you find the choices limited here why not travel to nearby towns such as Charlestown, only four miles away.

Knock is conveniently located, it is only 20 minutes drive from the airport.

Cong restaurants are a varied mix of the formal and informal. Cafes are situated in the village catering to casual eating. Restaurants in Cong with a more formal setting are also available. These are mainly those restaurants situated in the local hotels, most notably Ashford Castle, which has a choice of three restaurants.

The village of Cong is dominated by the aforementioned Ashford Castle, a renovated castle dating from the 13th century. Its countryside is beautiful and The Quiet Man was even partly shot here.

For such a remote location Achill Island restaurants are surprisingly diverse. Restaurants in Achill Island range from teashops to bars to large hotel eateries. Wherever you go, though, friendliness and a lack of pretension are guaranteed. What is perhaps not surprising about the restaurants in such a location is that fish is a specialty. Most are caught locally and ask for recommendations from your waiter.

Located to the west of Mayo, Achill Island is a remote but visually stunning location. Connected to the mainland by the Michael Davitt Bridge it can only be accessed by road.

Ballina restaurants are plentiful. This is perhaps, unsurprising, as it is the largest town in Mayo. Restaurants in Ballina are generally of a good standard. Choices are as varied as your taste will allow. You can dine in a castle, a bar or in a grill restaurant. A popular venue is Crockets on the Quay, which is named in many top restaurant guides.

Ballina is a popular town in Mayo with such historic sights of interest as the Moyne Abbey and St Muredach’s Cathedral.
